- Remove the leaves from lilacs and hydrangea to help them last longer. You can also dunk the bloom of a hydrangea into water for 30 minutes to help reconstitute it.
- Dip Gerbera daisy stems in gin before arranging (don’t drink the gin after,
it’s ok before).
- Roses and tulips arranged together don’t last long, so manage your expectations on their long life and do your best to change the water, snip the tips and add flower food.
- For every arrangement: change the water! Every other day or so, empty it out completely, wash your container, refill and resnip the stems of the flowers. They will thank you.
