Rochester Lilac Festival, Rochester, New York

Join hundreds of attendees in Highland Park for ten days of parades, concerts and races all inspired by the purple bloom. Among the many festivities and events, there’s Art in the Park, garden battles and a comedy show on the roster, not to mention 500 varieties of blooming lilacs to admire.

Yaddo Gardens, Saratoga Springs, New York

You may have heard of Yaddo as being one of the country’s premier artist retreats, but as its name suggests, there’s a serious garden involved here, too. On Yaddo’s grounds, you’ll find rose and rock gardens, as well as peaceful woods. Take a tour to get the most out of your visit—there’s even a ghost option available.

Macy’s Flower Show, New York, New York

In March, the iconic store sets aside two weeks—and the space—to showcase gorgeous plants and flowers from around the world. There’s always a fun theme and tons to do, including kids activities, seminars and live music. The floral displays and tableaux are like nothing you’ve ever seen, so be sure to take plenty of pics.
