In honor of Mother’s Day, Kittelberger Florist is spotlighting one of our home-grown own moms and flower experts. She tells us which flowers moms really want on May 13th.

Kids first names & ages: Twin girls, Taryn and Camryn, 20.

How did you get into floral work?
I started working part-time as my girls got older. I was drawn to Kittelberger’s, since I had a background in art, a strong interest in interior design and based on the feeling I got every time I stepped into the store.

What do you love most about working with flowers?
Flowers have a way of lifting my spirits. Even on the grayest days, which is often the case, living here!

Favorite flower?
I’m obsessed with the peonies we have right now.

What do you love most about being a mom?
I enjoy watching them discover the world and being able to see it from their perspective. They each have their own unique sense of humor that brings something new every day.

What do your kids think about what you do? Are they into flowers?
My girls look for excuses to drop by the shop! I think they have a greater appreciation for flowers now. They enjoy seeing something fun and different each time.

What flowers or flower design do moms really want for Mother’s Day, from your point of view? Speaking as both a mom and a flower expert? If you could pick one design from your selection to receive yourself, which would it be?
You would think that because I’m surrounded by flowers all day, I wouldn’t love them as a gift. In fact, it makes me want them more. The arrangements created here are each so inspired and unique, I’d be thrilled with any one of them!
